The day was like any other in Eddy County, Sunny and warm, not hot not cold, A perfect day in the autumn of the year. Little did the citizens of Carlsbad know that the calm sunny day would soon come crashing to an end.
People gather on the Courthouse lawn for what promised to be a nice fall festival. There was laughter and small children chasing each other on the grass. No one noticed anything wrong.
Suddenly out of nowhere the playfulness of the day was shattered as the lawn was swarmed with ghouls, vampire storm troopers, princesses, fairies and OH my goodness CHUPACABRA!!!!! There were dogs and dinosaurs, Ladybugs and ….Wait a minute is that a Kenmore washer and dryer? A Hot Air Balloon? A Jar of Peanut butter and Jelly? Pebble Flintstone? Raggedy Ann and Adam and Eve?. FINALLY someone came out with a STOP sign to end the madness.
At this point we have left The Eddy County Courthouse and entered the Twilight Zone folks. Or maybe, and this might be the answer all citizens are looking for, maybe we have stumbled into the Carlsbad Main street Trick or Treat Halloween Costume Contest.
If for some reason you missed the Horror, cuteness, laughter and cheers of the evening you can see it all here. There was so much to shoot that we could not put the cameras down. There are four folders. A lot of photos are going to seem like duplicates but we could not resist.
PLEASE be warned if you are even slightly squeamish PLEASE be careful and only look in these folders if you have someone near who can help you if you feel faint.
